Quit looking at my bum, you cheeky monkey!

Ambrose was beginning to resemble Pigpen, so I decided to bust out the inflatable bathtub... courtesy of Jenn and Katy. Thanks, girls! ;) Anyway, Ambrose had not been in a tub in awhile, so he was a little apprehensive at first... As you can see from the photos-- baths aren't so bad after all!

Welcome to Strassbourg, France!

We are back in action after hibernating through the darkest and coldest part of the German winter!! Our last trip was to Cologne, Germany over New Year's weekend. As many of you know, it was kind of a bust. Not only was it cold and rainy, but I didn't feel well and Ambrose was having tough times with his teeth. Breaking molars is not fun! We decided to resign from travel until the weather (and our health) improved... Well, the O'Neill bears 'snore on' no more!On Friday, we finally had a bout of good weather and wellness... We decided to take full advantage of the opportunity! We embarked on a scenic drive to Strassbourg, France. In the above photo, Ambrose encountered his first swan! He was a bit intimidated by this chance meeting as you can tell by his recoiled posture. :)
Upon arrival in Strassbourg, we parked by the cathedral, then headed straight to lunch at a lovely little French bistro around the corner. We ate a gourmet lunch while listening to the bells of Notre Dame du Strassbourg chime enchantingly in the background. I elected to eat dangerously, and sampled fried duck 'fois gras' for my entree. Mark ate a lamb with vegetables. Ambrose behaved like an angel, munching on hard crusty bread and banana puffs. It was so nice to eat a relaxing lunch.
Once we finished lunch, we visited the inside of the cathedral. Inside we found a curious clock and signs advising us of pickpockets! We had never seen a giant clock in a traditional church before, so this was a rather interesting site. The cathedral is known for it's elaborate almost 'cuckoo' style clock. It was kind of dark, but here's a picture of it.

We spent the rest of the day wandering the banks of the Ill River. As you can tell from the background of this photo of Ambrose and his dad, the landscape is known for its resemblance of Amsterdam. We wanted to take a tour on the boat behind Mark, but the water was too high. We have had a lot of rain over here recently. You can see how the rain affected Strassbourg in the photos below...

Ambrose's First Haircut!

The day finally arrived... It was time to cut Ambrose's hair for the first time! We made plans a couple weeks ago for everyone to get haircuts with Katie, an Air Force mom on base. She is a stylist. Anyway, Jenn and Katy couldn't make it because Katy is sick again. Poor dear... Ambrose, Kim, Zoe and I went anyway. It had to be done! Kim is due with her second baby in a couple weeks and Zoe's dad has been wreaking havoc on her little mop. Ambrose was suffering from a 70s hippie sideburn shaggy neck affair and I desperately needed to trim my bangs for fear of becoming 'Cousin It'!! I went first, so Ambrose would not be scared. Take a good look at his face-- he definitely knew 'something was up'... ;)

I hate my Internet Explorer!

Ok, last night I was going to post a nice thought out message talking about our weekend (with pictures), but my Internet Explorer crashed while I was in the middle of it!! Ever since I downloaded the most recent version Internet Explorer, I've had problems with it not responding at inopportune moments. Anyway, I will post a few self explanatory photos from the weekend right now, then I will post Ambrose's haircut pictures in the morning. I haven't had a chance to download them yet... I'm too tired to re-write all the lame stuff I was going to tell you-- plus, I know all you want to do is see photos of the Little Bear anyway. Night!
